Sophie Powell was born in 1980, and split her time growing up between London and a sheep farm in the Brecon Beacons in Wales, where she often went mushroom picking with her grandmother, sister and brother. She graduated in Classics from Trinity College, Cambridge University and has an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) from New York University. Sophie now lives in Boston with her husband Christian, where she teaches at Boston College and Lesley University. She previously taught at New York University. This summer Sophie will be in Washington DC teaching online creative writing classes with George Washington University. Books: The Mushroom Man
